1. 3. Revitalization actions «Europe Projects Excellence».–These aim is to promote the Spanish participation in the “Starting Grants” subprogram framed in the IDEAS Program of the VII Framework Program for European Research managed by the European Agency for European Research Council (ERCEA, in its acronym in English).
These are scientific-technical research projects related to the objectives of the submitted proposals and positively evaluated and considered eligible by the Council European Research Center (ERC), but, which for budgetary reasons could not finally be financed by said body.
1. Modality 1: «Challenges Investigation»: R+D+I Projects. It is about research projects consisting of papers experimental or theoretical that, due to their characteristics and purpose, are oriented to the search for solutions scientific-technical techniques that allow solving problems raised in the challenges of society, regardless of the basic or more applied nature of the methodology and results that are obtained.
These projects can be carried out individually or coordinated, in order to encourage the creation of schemes of more powerful scientific cooperation, so as to allow achieve objectives that could hardly be set in a more restricted execution context.
2. Modality 2: Actions consisting of International Joint Programming projects (hereinafter, «Joint Programming Actions International»). These are actions for promote the financing of the participation of teams Spaniards in collaborative research projects of European dimension, in the context of the actions of the European Research Area, or actions international organizations, in whose joint calls for projects, in specific topics, Spain participates through agreements and memorandums of understanding. Two types of actions, as framed in the calls ERA-Net and international programmes, or in programming initiatives joint venture of the European Union.
