According to the Hebrew Bible, Mr. Noah dedicated himself to to practice the architecture of boats in the mountains Ararat building a huge ark before an imminent deluge universal.
Now, from a slightly smaller adaptation, it has been wanted to represent a symbiosis between the Ark of Noah that we all remember in our minds with the family and a wide variety of animal species, and the typical barn or rural farmhouse of the meadows of Poland through truly modern architecture and unique who wants to show that we can build homes without getting in the way of nature.
The contemporary ark project was called "Arka koniecznego". A house with pure lines and robust located in the town of Brenna (Poland) and sponsored by the Polish architect Robert Konieczny, director and founder of the KWK Promes studio.
Although the story of Noah's Ark tells us remember that the possible construction was based on the wood from nearby forests.
The single-family country house that we present is built with a more modern material; thick walls of wisely combined with a gabled roof that simulates the aesthetics of the purest concrete through a synthetic waterproofing system for roofs called TPO.
The glazing produces an envelope and façade geometry that distinguishes the building. (See also the article a geometric facade)
The house, in the words of the architect, «is designed as a bridge", that is, before the location of the land in slope and the possible risks of landslides, it was decided to raise the building above the ground so as not to hinder the way to nature against the rains and as a way of security protection.
There is only one entry from a kind of small drawbridge in the style of medieval castles and in its lower part, the large windows, are closed by a concrete wall of 10 meters in length achieving seal the house against any intruder.
In order not to further cloud the landscaping, the architect limited himself to to respect the garden that already provides itself meadow as a leisure area, while they opted for limit the plot area with a traditional fence based on wood.
From the layout of the interior, with an environment that forms a minimalist style in the house, we can observe that the day zone with the dining room, kitchen and living room enjoy large openings before the impressive landscape. The night area has been located in looking for more privacy from the back of the house rural.
Of course, the discovery of the remains of the Ark of Noah – boat – in that early engraving of the eighteenth century was an important event, but what we are more excited are the later forms with which this symbolic landmark has been represented along throughout history; from playmobil games for kids, going through the LEGO to the most modern.
